Minutes of the 2010 Annual Assembly The minutes of the Annual Assembly held on the 4th May 10 were read. Proposed by K Ashberry, seconded by W. Foord that these were a true record. Signed by Councillor Bateman.
Matters Arising from these Minutes. There was nothing that anyone wished to discuss.
Chairman’s Report Councillor Bateman began by saying that she was sure that everyone was aware that she had not stood for Parish Council for the next term of office and she wished to thank everyone for their help and support over the past years.
She thanked all the members of the Parish Council and the North Lincolnshire Council representatives for attending the meetings throughout the year and for entering into the discussion to help to make lively meetings. She also thanked the Clerk for all her work not only at meetings but also ‘behind the scenes’ – for duties which are often taken for granted but often overlooked.
Last but by no means least she thanked the Village Handyman, Mr Norman Thompson. He is always about around the village picking up litter, cutting grass and keeping the play area clean and tidy.
Over the years Winteringham Parish Council has been a council that has cared about the village, providing a wonderful playing field and ensuring that it is well maintained. The councilors strive to keep the yearly precept as low as possible but realize that rising costs and wages do not always make this an easy task.
Councillor Bateman finished by hoping that the Parish Councillors will work hard in future to ensure that Winteringham is a village which everyone can be proud of.
North Lincolnshire Councillors Report. No North Lincs Councillor present.
Questions from the Public/ Matters for discussion Who is responsible for the upkeep and pruning of the trees on West End? The Clerk explained that these are the responsibility of North Lincolnshire Council. She was asked to report once again that the trees are in need of attention and pruning – the branches are becoming entangled with the phone lines and they are shutting out light from houses.
North Lincolnshire Council will also be asked to attend to ‘bottom’ pruning the trees at the junction of Cliff Road and A1077 in order to improve visibility for drivers leaving the village.
The Clerk will also request that the stone work around the Post Office corner be sprayed for weeds.
At the present time thankfully the village is not suffering from much vandalism.
Mr Wilkinson said that he would like to take this opportunity to thank the council for making the village such a pleasant place to live.
The meeting closed at 8.10pm.
